Fresh out of high school in 1972 at the age of 18, Mr. Randall became a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Agent for his insurance agency, Randall & Associates, located in Detroit, Michigan. With an emphasis in providing insurance to the manufacturing sector of the Motor City, Randall & Associates soon became one of the areas preeminent insurance agents representing metal and plastic fabricators and suppliers to the Big Three Automakers.
In the evenings, Mr. Randall pursued college studies at Wayne State University achieving duo undergraduate majors in finance and accounting. Also during that time, Mr. Randall earned a designation as a Certified Insurance Counselor from the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC – Austin, TX) in what was Michigan’s first group so designated.
At the age of 27, Mr. Randall sold the agency devoting himself full time to the study of law at the Detroit College of Law (n/k/a Michigan State University College of Law) with a primary emphasis of study in the field of taxation. During his law school studies, Mr. Randall worked for the Michigan Tax Tribunal and, in his last term of law school, worked as a tax accountant with the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co. Upon graduation in 1984, Mr. Randall accepted a position as a tax accountant, with the firm of Coopers & Lybrand located in Los Angeles, California, with a primary emphasis in the taxation of insurance companies and agents.
Thereafter, Mr. Randall became employed by one of LA’s finest law firms, Conkle & Olesten (n/k/a Conkle, Kremer & Engle) specializing in insurance law, bad faith and policy holder’s rights, and later with the well respected law firm of Shutts & Bowen located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Since 1989, Mr. Randall has been providing litigation services in numerous state and federal jurisdictions as well as other legal services to insurance consumers and insurance agents. During the past 18 years, Mr. Randall has developed a law practice with an emphasis in the Viatical or Life Settlement Industries and has represented numerous individual policyholders, hedge funds and life settlement providers in the business of buying and selling life insurance policies and its related litigation.
In addition to providing legal services to insurance policyholders, Mr. Randall has provided operational consulting services to insurance agents and agencies, orchestrating the formation, purchase and sale of numerous agencies, and has defended insurance agents in license revocation proceedings in administrative hearings.
